Funny things the kids say
Posted on January 17th, 2010 @ 10:30 pm

These kids just keep us laughing all the time. I’ve been meaning to write down some of the stuff they have been saying but keep forgetting. But the boys gave us two gems tonight that I had to write down.

Ever since American Idol was on the other night I’ve been singing the “Pants on the ground” song which the boys have picked up as well. When we got home this evening Drew ran upstairs to take off his clothes and he ran back down in nothing but a tshirt and was singing “pants on the ground, pants on the ground, Im looking like a fool with my pants on the ground.” So then he ran upstairs again and took his shirt off and came down completely naked and he said “now I look like a double fool!”

Then this evening the boys got some lactinex in their yogurt since they are on anti-biotics and its messing up their intestinal tract. So while I was on the phone with mom Ryan tells her “I had yogurt…and it makes my poop feel better!” Yes- mom was laughing hysterically.

Sickies stay away
Posted on January 17th, 2010 @ 10:16 am

Is there a dance or a prayer that can be said to make the sick fairy stay away from our house? 2010 has not been good to us so far in that category. Peter and I both had the stomach virus to start of the new year.

Then on Monday, January 4th I was in Urgent Care in excruciating pain and after several tests it was suspected that I had a kidney stone. I had a CT scan done the following day which confirmed that I had a 7.5 mm stone in my left kidney. I met with the Urologist this past week and I am going to have to have a lithotripsy done (shock waves sent to my kidney to break the stone up) and that procedure is going to be January 29th.

Drew got sick this past week running a 103.2 fever and complaining of his throat hurting. So off to the doctor we went and he was diagnosed with strep-throat. The doctor looked at Ryan and was concerned with his nose (it was crusty and had red splotches on his skin around his nose) and the doctor said that you can get strep in the nose as well which could cause impetigo. So he gave us a prescription for anti-biotics for him as well and we were told to watch him to see if he got worse. Well…Ryan is now on anti-biotics too. But both boys are feeling better and Drew was able to return to school on Wednesday.

Now, Peter is sick with a fever and general ickiness and Im just hoping that it stays away from me. UGH!

Fell off the bandwagon
Posted on January 17th, 2010 @ 10:09 am

So Project 365 is a bust for me…. at least taking a picture a day. I knew I was going to do it but thought I would give it a try. Oh well. I will at least get monthly pictures and keep the blog updated- thats good enough, right? :)

Kenny and Shawn got Drew this really cool draw your own tshirt gift for Christmas. ( myspecialtshirt.com ) The shirt is made out of football jersey type material (although not at shiny) and it comes with washable markers. So he can draw his shirt-du-jour and then throw it in the wash and it comes out clean! Let the fun begin!

So after not having anything in my stomach for well over 24 hours when I had my first diet coke it was THE.BEST.DIET.COKE.EVER. Diet coke had never tasted so good to me than it did at that very moment. I decided to remember that moment forever. :)

The new year DID NOT start off good for me. I had a nasty stomach virus that begain on NYE- was running 102.9 fever that I could not get to break. When I finally did manage to come downstairs on new years day I saw our sad star on the tree. And that summed up how I was feeling right then and there. I sure hope that our poor star is not indicative of how the new year will be.
